ABOUT LEON MONK PHOTOGRAPHY
Leon Monk is a Documentary Photographer with 7 years of Experience, currently studying Commercial Photography at Arts University Bournemouth.

Hello and welcome to my photography website. My name is Leon Monk and i'm a Uk based photographer from Kent. At the moment i'm currently studying commercial photography at Arts University Bournemouth, and since studying here i have really fallen for Documentary/Editorial Photography. One of the things i love about Documentary photography, is travelling to a place that i have never been to before and documenting the goings on. As well as Documentary photography i'm also extremely passionate about automotive and aviation photography, so this is what a lot of my work tends to be evolved around.
Photography has always been a favourtie of mine, and ever since aquiring my first Nikon D3300 DSLR camera in 2016, i have always been snapping images. Taking my camera wherever i went, photographing, airplanes, cars, family outings and events, but not really having an idea of what route i wanted to go down, till joining the Arts University Bournemouth in 2022.
Outside Photography i'm passionate about the Second World War, Military vehicles and fascintated by the History behind it. One of things i most look forward to every year, is taking a WW2 Willys Jeep over to Normandy for the D-Day commemorations, its such a fantastic atmosphere and great to see so many vehicles commenorating a day where over 80 years ago 132,000 troops landed on the Normandy coastline.
I try to as much as i can include areas of WW2 within my photography work, so the Majority of my Aviation work covers the iconic Supermarine Spitfire, and sometimes i get the opportunity to photograph the first test flight of a Spitfire after restoration.
